My likes are windows media player and media player
job takes the child away.
I like KM player for its simplicity and easy keyboard shortcuts....
Windows media player is the best but i mostly do use both vlc and windows media player!
GOM player and VLC play almost all the different types of media files. If your media file doesnt play on them it will not play on any other player. You can add missing codecs if needed on GOM by following the link when you play a file.
Plus GOM gives full screen play back. I know the others give full screen option 2 but GOM gives true full screen i.e even task bar disappears.Try it, to know what i mean.
For movies its .. PowerDVD and for music I ll go for VLC and Media-player.....
Hats off to VLC and Media codec pack for windows media player!![]()
I use winamp for audio and vlc for video.
I use Media monkey for audio as it has some good library management functions and I use KM player for viewing Videos
GOM + ffdshow. Don't really like VLC.
Hmm.. I like Media Player Classic and VLC![]()
For me i like Foobar2k for mp3 files because this player is open source and 2nd is very simple and good and vlc (open source) for the video.
My favorite media player is Gom Player. Its freely available in the internet . Its support all the operation system . Its have the capability to convert each and every file in to some Mp3 and Mp4. This player also support all the all th file to play. And also have the facility to see the live show online.
For me its VLC and Media Player classic for .mkv
640K ought to be enough for anybody.-Bill Gates
When it comes to media players I like to play all of the movies on GOM and itunes handles all of my music files![]()
Music - foobar2000
Video - KMPlayer
I like playerX for audio.
For video, the Media Player Classic is good, but I've also tried moovida, vlc, songbird, iMusic, etc and found songbird and iMusic to be as good as classic.
I've not tested the GOMplayer or the KMplayer, but guess that these should be equally good.
GOM Player VLC plays almost all types of multimedia files. If your media file does not play on them will not play on any other player. You can add the missing codec. MBO allows full-screen playback. It offer the full screen option 2 but provides GOM indeed in full screen.
Foobar on Windows, although it doesn't qualify as "media" player, because it is only for audio.
VLC, because it is small and simple, although exploration of all its options can quickly become daunting. It ha lots of flexibility and power. It is also cross-platform and the same on Linux as WIndows.
What I don't want: a "fancy" user interface, or psychadelic patterns while listening to music
What I don't need (at least for now): a media library manager. I would rather maintain the files/directory structure that is native to my computer operating system, and the same whatever I use to view it, from the media player to the command line. However, I'm open to this changing some time in the future.
Media Player Classics & VLC Media Player.
vlc!! Ofcourse it plays all kind of formats for me
my favourite KM player
VLC is wonderful..
And media player classic just plays anythng under the sun!
GO for it guys!
Of course it is VLC!!
GOM is my Fav Player......which plays almost all formats.........
vlc

VLC is the baap of all media player.
personally i try out new things...
when i have to play some selected songs like on the woofer, i use Windows Media player.
but when comes general usage like watching a film, or downloaded youtube video which is flv file, than vlc is the choice..
vlc is my like player at the first place, as because it can play all kinds of files..
(if anyone knows any other which has better skin than the vlc and can play all formats and more stuff please dont forget to mention)

Vlc
vlc
vlc![]()
vlc is not good at handling ordered/linked chapters mkv files but these files are mostly anime related.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?
VLC is my favourite too, but the Linux version (at least) has one very major disadvantage in playing music. It will not play "gapless".
On an album of separate songs, this is never noticable, but, on a live album, or worse, a long classical piece where the "tracks" may be every few minutes, it introduces small gaps where the music should be continuous.
I think this problem may be on Linux only, but for such a popular and well-respected player, it is crazy that this makes it unusable.
I use The KMPlayer for video and Aimp for music))
WMP 12 with k-lite codec pack!![]()
I like TVC media player because in this player all type of file play and fast process if you convert the file size this process will done this player.it's result is so clear.
i like "windows media player" and "mediaplayer classic with codecs"
they are just fine and help me play a lot of content.
vlc and kmp
any one here for cowon package(jetaudio)
k m player is the best for video
window media player is best for music
My vote goes to wmplayer and vlc.
vlc is one of gr8 freeware for playing video and audio. it also does crop and trim the video and audio files.
gom and vlc do for me..
gom has auto-streching full screen ability with vlc you it manually.
gom does also play some broken corrupted files. vlc wont.. but still there are many goodies about vlc so i like it too..
dont know why microsoft doesnt bring something that loads quickly and we dont need vlc gom etc..

I'm ashamed to say that I just never noticed, but it does this on Windows too, although the gaps are much shorter. The developers do not seem to be at all concerned. "If it bothers you, write the code to fix it, otherwise..." Fair enough, it is an open source project with community input, but not all of us are programmers.
For video (which I don't watch very often), I'm still with VLC.
For Audio, I have taken to Aqualung. It does not try to be a web browser, magazine, or any such thing: just a music (not video)player. The user interface is not pretty. But it works --- and it plays gapless (unless the gaps are supposed to be there of course!) even with mixed-formats.
It is simple and it works well --- but it has some power too. It has a music manager (although I just prefer to work with directories and files) and uses LADSPA effects, so you can apply a heap of processing to your sound if you want to.
Mine's Linux, of course, but it is available for Windows and others.
Post is specifically for Audio::
I don't understand why people keep on ignoring WMP and winamp. I personally feel that Window Media Player has some special kind of codecs which makes the sound quality of mp3 files(including FLAC format) excellent compared to other media players(specially VLC).
Winamp, which i have started using again after a long time is making me happy too. Its fast and have some useful plugins.
Media Player Classic is good but bit slow and some times laggy.

One important thing which i want to share is a plugin for lyrics which works for vlc, wmp as well as winamp.
Its minilyrics. Google it and install. It automatically download and displays song lyrics as it plays.
Feedbacks are welcome.

Is not using Windows a good reason?I don't understand why people keep on ignoring WMP and winamp.![]()
i think using good headphones/earphones one major reason why sound becomes better..

But seriously... I never used WMP because I don't like an over-fussy interface to a media player, and I hate being told, sorry, you don't have the codecs to play this: buy them!
VLC, then, came as a pleasant surprise, and I just stuck with it for a long time. Whilst it is not a "fussy" (over-decorated) interface, nor is it the easiest to get anything but the basics from. It is very powerful: discovering that power is not always easy.
I would still agree on VLC for Linux... except for this gapless playback issue, which destroys classical or live rock replay.
This is one of those, surely-this-is-just-basic issues. I do not understand why it is a problem with VLC. I do not understand why it is a problem with several Ubuntu media players.
If you can't play a CD, or a ripped CD, and have it sound just like it would on a CD player ... the media player is terminally broken.
/rant over: Happy New Year![]()
Gom player because I watch movie with subtitle.
Windows Media Player with the latest k-lite codecs and their updates. You won't need vlc after installing them and now you will also be able to see thumbnails of all video files. For videos that are difficult to jump in wmp, I use Media Player Classic and for playing broken videos, I use GOM player. Video quality on WMP is way better than VLC so I prefer it always.
VLC my favorite media player.
I too prefer VLC, before it was Windows media playerI later changed as it did not always support all files.
i use different media players depending on the requirements of the videos i watch but i use VLC media player more often its easy and simple to use. i love to have different kinds of softwares thats why i have most the commonly used media players
Desire is the cause of suffering in Life.
VLC plays almost everything. Most other players would not play one thing or the other and that is the reason I use VLC.
I have been using VLC for over a decade nowWorks with almost every type of file.
I think it is not really about the favourite it is more about the best media player. I personally have only come across VLC and not really explored others.
