Default Lightweight Browser, Low Memory BRowser

HI Friends, Please suggest me some light weight browser, which consumes low memory,

Firefox is good but consumes lot of memory and takes time to start up, also while running FF with other applications it frequently freezes or freezes other applications, then we need to just wait for some time till it gets ok... and unfreezes itself or other apps...

I heard K-Meleon is one such browser which consumes low memory..

Have you tried Google Chrome ? I feel it is very fast. May be you will like it. Give it a try.

As suggested by meetdilip give Chrome a try. Opera is also a decent browser. As for k-melon, it indeed consumes quite low memory.

I am using Firefox and am not facing any such problems.
    1. Which version do you use?
    2. Perhaps you have added many addons
    3. Try resetting firefox.

And why not give epic a try. After all, it is an Indian browser.

True. It is Firefox with a lot of add ons built in. But they have done it well. Nice work.

You can use Epic, Orca or Firefox Beta verision. It runs smoothly. Add some useful add ons to firefox to run it smoothly.

If you are looking for good and secure online experience with a light browser then vote goes to google chrome, its one of the best browser after firefox.

The Midori browser for windows is most lightweight of all.
Apple's Safari Browser for windows is also a good one.
But the latest Opera Browser's speed in windows exceeds firefox at least, if not the K-Meleon.
However K-Meleon seems to be developing more and designwise it is equivalent to Linux's Galeon and Macosx's Camino -- since all the three use the same firefox-base but improve upon the speed but for the time being lose in some few aspects which is expected to be fixed in due course of time.

But if you are looking for best and most standard browsers for windows os, then try either Firefox, Opera, Chrome, Safari, etc as all are good.

Safari is good but not light on system resources IMHO. I guess Chrome is the most light weight mainstream browser rightnow.

Try Opera 11.I Have Seen It Using Less Resources Than Chrome.

Now The 11 Alpha Supports Extensions.

    And K-meleon Is Awesome.

google chrome is the most resource draining browser among all coz chrome opens up a new process for each of its tab/window.thats the reason its so fast.but it will consume a lot of ram.
    rsk11584 is right.
    when it comes to slow rigs(less than= 1gb memory),use safari/opera/firefox
FF goes upto a max of 300mb(12 parallel tabs or more).
