    1.
    Now, I presume
    the error has beeen pinpointed to Adobe Photo shop , and/or the video player.
    2.
    Download VLC Player and try. Mention the Video Player you use .
    3.
    Adobe Photo shop, may need update/s.
    3a.
    Try Irfanview from filehippo.com
    4.
    XP Sp2 support has ceased on July 10th, and better to upgrade to SP3 and other Updates.
    5.
    The problem could have been reported and OS patch made.

    Did you try a different software to convert your videos? Or does it happen with all the softwares & everytime?

    Previously I was getting an error of "svchost.exe Application error" when I was rendering a file with AVS video converter but now I am not getting an error. Only I am getting when I right click and open a jpg file with photoshop

    I think this could be solve if I re-install it!
    If not then I will format.

    Thanks for reply

    Download Microsoft Security Essentials and Malicious Removal Tool from MS.
    Your back up copy with applications can still have virus/es.
    Try in "SAFE MODE" with internet connection.
    2. Download Anvir Task manager free and check the start up applications.
    wait.....

    instead of reinstalling, firstly download and install the following as follows:
    1) the clamwin antivirus, update its virus-database definitions and modify the clamwin settings with the "delete option", but do not scan till the other two softwares mentioned below are installed;
    2) the ultraexplorer filemanager;
    3) the sharpenviro desktopshell;

    Meanwhile go to the control panel, folder options --> file option --> folder --> advanced, and set the default settings of filemanager from explorer to ultraexplorer (located under C:\Program Files\UltraExplorer\ultraexplorer.exe).
    Then go to the C:\SharpE\bin and run the sharpe shell manager, and change the desktopshell from windows explorer to sharp enviro.
    Then reboot without antivirus-scanning and after reboot do the following below without (never) inserting your pen-drive till completion:

    Now, run clamwin antivirus and start scanning the:
    1) ram memory for viruses and then 2) entire hard disk for viruses.
    The result of the scan is:
    1) the system is now free of viruses
    2) even if the explorer.exe file is deleted, but you are still able to use the desktopshell and filemanager but in a different form -- you just have to be familiar with them, and believe me -- these two software pairs form the best desktopshell and filemanager alternatives so far.
    3) Whenever you insert any pendrive (infected or non-infected alike), first scan it with clamwin antivirus before ever opening the explorer or any other filemanager.
    4) Since the explorer.exe is more mischievious in freshly allowing viruses to simulating all over from pendrive to ram and hard disk, I suggest the you may even manually delete the explorer.exe via dos mode -- and this will not pose any problems as long as the new desktopshell and filemanager runs intact.

    Note:
    if you are not comfortable with the two then you can download the rosexplorer (reactos), unpack its contents into C:\windows and use the explorer_unicode.exe as the new desktopshell-cum-filemanager.
    Still other options are EmergeDesktop (desktopshell) with CubicExplorer (filemanager), etc -- whatever may be their user-friendliness, they always remain comparatively safer than explorer.exe.

    I will try and give u a feedback.
    I always scans only C: drive because I have most of the softwares in another partition and when I scans it, it deletes some of my software patches and keygens not all, i know it may virus have infected those but I dont want to loose it. Does it can harm my computer if I run those while disabling antivirus for 2 minutes? or what should i do if I found downloaded patch or crack is virus infected is it safe to run?

    first remove the existing antivirus and then download and install the latest version of clamwin, then configure as mentioned above.

    first remove the existing antivirus and then download and install the latest version of clamwin-antivirus, and then configure into scan with delete-option (for detected-viruses) as mentioned above.

    First go to the task-manager's process-tab and try the end-task process for most of the programs except some such as svchost and explorer (but do not close the task manager).
    Then start scan (virus-delete mode) from ram using clamav's scan on ram.
    Before waiting more, go to the task manager and then end-task the explorer process too, and now although the taskbar disappears, continue scanning till finish.
    Once the clamwin scans the ram, now scan in the hard disk (whichever is accessible (in this case, only c:\).
    Then reboot -- now there is no virus running in ram to hide any hard disk.
    If the windows taskbar does not appear, then press ctrl+alt_delete and choose "new task". The new task now should be the sharpe shell manager located under C:\sharpe\bin;

    Hi kgkaushik
    Thanks for reply
    but I don't want to use sharpe shell, it was totally different from win xp shell
    will I able to get back win xp shell?? If clamwin delete explorer.exe then I have to reinstall windows xp for xp shell. My antivirus also detecting explorer.exe as virus he can also delete that, but i have stopped it from deleting. So what will i do if explorer.exe is being deleted???

    To explore the data, all you have to do is work from its task bar--><menu programs>-->ultraexplorer (so now this compensates for everything what you need)

    You can save a copy of this infected explorer.exe into another location to revert back to undo if you want.

    No, once infected, it is all over and should recur again -- and today's viruses are risky even with the quarantine option.

    Last year, I had faced exactly the same problem but got solution by deleting explorer and using these alternatives, which all worked fine whether I used windowsxp for msoffice or oracle or anything else didn't matter -- in fact these performed better when more no of programs were loaded, which the windows explorer suddenly begins to fail out here also (explorer deceptively appears faster if less no of programs are installed, but suddenly slows down when more programs are installed and eventually fails while the others still work; moreover explorer being good from outside but comparatively bad from inside, thus deceives the user).
    That time I never panicked unlike what I did upto >=2 years ago;
    Earlier I also used to hope for miracles happen with explorer.exe, but all the time ended up in reinstallation of windows.
    (for user friendliness rosexplorer>sharpenviro>emergedesktop but for speed emergedesktop>sharpenviro>rosexplorer, and still sharpenviro has more broad range of advantages falling in all the aspects)

    But, if you are still looking for only one solution then:

    So either reformat+reinstall windows to get back the option which you are looking for;

    Or if you want a new uninfected explorer back then there exists a still another third alternative for which do as follows:

    (Note: You can save a copy of this infected explorer.exe into another location to revert back to undo if you want)

    1) You must delete the explorer.exe file with clamwin antivirus and get a spare exe file as follows:
    2) Then reboot and download the reactos' rosexplorer as zip file, and unzip its contents into C:\windows folder, (not under subfolders) in such a way that explorer_unicode.exe, explorer_ansi.exe, etc appears on C:\windows directory.

    3) Now copy the explorer_unicode.exe file into a new file renamed to "explorer.exe" (but never double-click on any of these files).

    Then go to sharpenviro's shell settings and choose "windows explorer" instead of "sharp enviro".

    Then reboot to see the explorer type desktop, which you were looking for.

    Note: if you are still not ok then you can always remove this and put back the original infected explorer.exe

    Of course if you want explorer.exe only, then other than reformatting and reinstalling windows, there is no better way -- and this is a price paid by the majority of us because we not able to stop panicking and adapt to the difficulties in a newer way.

    Or install windows7 -- the easier and best long term option where I think the explorer might have improved a lot;

    I've also made a customized desktop by combining SharpEnviro DesktopShell with both UltraExplorer FileManager and Webmin-ControlPanel, and which has appearance of greengnome, ubuntu, windows, nature, etc looks:

    https://docs.google.com/leaf?id=0Byl...NmI1MDlj&hl=en

    Note:

    1) To choose the theme, copy any subfolders from the "C:\SharpE\settings\user\" into the same directory with the new-folder-name=<login-name>.

    2) The Webmin's running of start.pl requires both strawberryperl as well as perl.aspx to be installed, and also a fresh download of process.exe into C:\windows.

    3) The desktop assumes that the user has installed most of the softwares available at the http://openhippo.com/open-source-softwares/ site.
