Perhaps this might help : Adblock IE
Most ad-blockers for IE don't have a real user interface, you can only use predefined lists and cannot add your own filters (or it is complicated). Internet Explorer requires binary plugins meaning that you have to use a compiled language like C++, this already increases the development effort by factor 10 at the very least (that’s the main reason why there are only few really free Internet Explorer extensions). Furthermore, these extensions can only communicate with the browser through predefined interfaces.

Do you guys realize that the tons of content that is published on the internet is mostly financed by the advertising revenue? More and more people using ad blocking scripts will reduce revenues for those who create content in the long run and the quality of content will come down with time. Those who have a ready answer like wikipedia and stuff well... You just dont have any idea what the different market forces are... wiki is a pile of untrustworthy content which any tom dick or harry can go and change.
Ultimately its all about material gains and by chocking the circle you are unknowingly doing a lot of harm to the cycle. A few million people using adblocks wont make any difference but imagine if everyone on the net started doing that then most of your favorite sites will be shut down and so will this forum...
There is a parallel economy running on the net... let it run

Yep. At times you get interesting ads too. I end up in buying a netbook after I saw an Ad (Olive Zipbook)which appeared frequently on Google ads. Also it was nice experience ( Loh Purush ) ads during the election. You get notified of Airtel , Vodafone etc's most recent offer in Google. Why turn such an useful source of information. Blocking flash content and image are fine but blocking all others other than the one we are expecting won't be good. Just my opinion.
