IE8, installed properly, without any error, but there is no icon present. i use xp with sp2. while installing xp i got a message that internet explorer is not installed properly. Pl. help

1. Do you use a genuine Windows version ?
2. Uninstall IE using Revo uninstaller and reinstall .
3. Go to start > programs > you will find IE in the list. Make a shortcut to desktop or use it from there itself
xp is genuine. earlier ie 8 was ok. but after i had to repair xp. this problem started. even it does not show in the installed programes.

Check in program files. You may find a link. But if it is a corrupted install, follow point no. (2).
Back up existing Registry entries orIE8, installed properly, without any error, but there is no icon present.

thanks essbee, i got it from the "missing IE icons from your desktop" . but it still does not shows in the installed programes. why?

1.Presume in START Up Menu ? confirmbut it (*IE8)still does not shows in the installed programes.
2.When you click the Short cut icon in Desktop or start up menu ( command :"Pin to start up menu" )select from context menu Properties
