Default Port Forwarding in Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit - Not working

Not exactly port forwarding I suppose. I want Windows Firewall to allow a port. For Bit Torrent. Have tried the usual CPL>Windows Firewall>Advanced Settings>Inbound Rules. a number of times. Has not worked.

    Not using a router.
Using HUAWEI UMG1831 USB Data Card.

Uninstalled Macfee Security. Still does not work.
    Disabled Windows Firewall. No luck.

Have checked with PortForward.com also their pfportchecker utility. Nothing helps.

Bit Torrent says 'port not open though downloads will work'. Words to that effect.

    Any ideas welcome.

    Thanks

There has to be some security software that is blocking that port, try a different port or reinstall the client.
If this does not work download a port forwarding software.

With USB modem, you are on "Dialer" mode and all ports are open.
I think there is No provision in USB modem to set Port forwarding.

    2. Have you enabled both UDP TCP?

@ Axel, essbebe: Thanks for responding.

Running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on a laptop (DELL Studio 1558)
Have uninstalled security software. Have configured Windows firewall to allow uTorrent & also the port. None of these steps have helped.

    Please check attached images

If that is the case why am I getting '..port not open but downloads will work..' from uTorrent ?

Would appreciate any inputs, though now it is purely academic after the recent BSNL decision to cap all unlimited plans

    To do :

    1. Use utorrent. Use the UPnP function in it.

    2. If you are planning to use torrents, you should seriously think about using a 3rd party firewall which monitors both incoming and outgoing traffic. Try one from Zone alarm or Comodo. Once you install, it will automatically disable Windows Firewall. Go to your Zone alarm firewall (presume you installed it), allow utorrent. Check this

W7 Home Premium is severely handicapped security wise, rather the user is handicapped. Have tried most options.

Yes, downloads work fine except one has this warning that the port is not open. One suspects that there could be a performance hit because of this, also uneasy seeing a warning

    1. UPnP already enabled.
    2. Was using ZA some years ago, but stopped as it was quite expensive (but worth it). Did not know that they have a free firewall. Will d'l soon as I get back to 'civilization'

    Thanks to both of you

    Download from here:
    Download ZoneAlarm Free 9.2.105.000 - FileHippo.com
    about 45 MB

some other Firewall applications also available. Check sunbelt ( lighter application. )

@essbebe: Thanks for the links. Will stick to ZA as I am used to that. A little resource hungry though.
