    Default i had dell inspiron 15R i5 processsor

    can any one tell me can i install windows xp in my lappy........while im insatlling windows xp professional it shows the msg.................a problem has been detected & windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your comp.
    if this is the 1st time you have seen this stop error screen restart your comp. if this screen appears again, follow these steps........

    check for virus on your copm.remove any newly imstalled hard drives or hard drives controllers.check your hard drives to make sure it is properly configured & terminated run CHKDSK.if to check for hard drive corruption & then restart your comp.... tech info:-

    but in my lappy windows 7 ultimate is installing easyly

    I think dell inspiron 15R is not compatible with windows xp,
    Why do you want to go for such an old os?
    I would suggest you to use windows 7 as it is more safer and faster
