Thread: Folder is Not Moving and Not Deleting

I have downloaded dictionary in which folder of voice language pronunciations in to other languages ( VOX type folder ) is sticked to my C drive. It neither moving nor deleting and thus it prevents to move whole dictionary folder from C drive to another drive,

I have downloaded it from torrent.

After making right click no option for rename or delete appears.

Due to this folder I am not able to use dictionary or not able to move IT from C drive.

Please show me a way to delete the folder and or rename the folder.

I tried it in safe mode to delete or rename bu all efforts gone in vain.

Please suggest some thing.

Select the folder and press delete from keyboard and reply what error msg is given?

I have it and it's option is not appears in this particular folder after rightclicing it.

Use a Linux live CD, load Linux and delete the folder in question. Normally works in such cases. I use one from Knoppix.

@meetdilip Good idea if pnjani is using XP otherwise it'll be a prob

I used to have XP and Windows 7 dual boot. Tried Knoppix in that scenario. Worked for me.

Just like XP is an operating system from Microsoft, Knoppix is a Linux Operating system. You can use it from CD without installing it

Download live CD from here : KNOPPIX - Live Linux Filesystem On CD

Write it into a CD, and insert in CD drive. Restart the PC. Now you will find an option to choose Knoppix. Log in to Knoppix. Now simply check folder that is not giving any option to delete. Now you will find an option to delete it.

does it say the folder you are trying to delete couldnt be found, something like that??

No it is there and not moving not deleting not copaying and also not allow to move main folder of dictionary

what i meant to say is "when you give delete from right click, it must be saying this dialogue..

:the folder/file you are trying to delete doesnt exist"

First, do you have an antivirus? Some comments from isohunt says that the file is infected.

Second try to delete the root folder.

I have avast free antivirus.

you have not suggested any software and whole dictionary folder can not be deleted or move.

Apart from this will you suggest a good dictionaty.

Can you uninstall the software (the dictionary) from control panel?

I mostly use google when I don't know something.

whole dictionary folder is laying C drive my documents and download.

I have not installed because it is not allowing to install.

Just i tis laying there and not doing any thaing and not allowing us to do any thing with that dictionary whole folder

Either its infected with an virus or its corrupted

Scan it with an antivirus
