Thread: Taskbar Icons!!!!!

Please go to following link and tell me why there are two internet icons on my taskbar.I am using Windows XP Professional SP3..

Go to" Network places " and post the screen shot.

You can remove the other entry by deleting connection /dialer which is not active.

If i want to use internet i have to enable local area connection 1st and then dial my created connection. If i don't enable my local area connection it shows error WAN miniport not reachable..So how can i remove local area connection??????? So, my two connections are active.Please tell me what to do in this case??????

If presence of two icons are annoying you, you can try disabling " Show icon when the connection is active " from the connection properties.

Added double Monitor ICON to show network activity in
Windows 7 system.
Now Laptop on LAN mode.

This is not problem of 1 or 2 internet icons. But please tell me if i want to use internet every time i have to enable local area connection and then dial my created connection. My friends also using bsnl broadband, But they only dial created connection to use net. So, why i have to enable local area connection to use net..
So, how can i automate download at night???
Please tell me anyone else have the same problem???????

how can you expect electricity(network traffic) in your home after switching the light on(dialled connection) when you have cut the main line(lan) coming to your house(pc).
