Note:backup all data before converting.
To convert a volume to NTFS from the command prompt:-
1.)Open Command Prompt. Click Start, run, then type "cmd"
2.)In the command prompt window, type: convert "drive_letter": /fs:ntfs
example : convert I: /fs:ntfs
u need to format anyway if changed through command prompt
i recommend to backup data and then rightclick onthe drive from "mycomputer"
choose format
and there change the type to NTFS from the drop down menu.
changing the type from command prompt just changes the type hence the drive will be unknown to the os and it asks to format when u try to access it.
either way u need to format the drive.
formatting is the easiest way than going to command promt and messing up....
and also do a backup please..
