Thanks all of you for the replies. I have tried everything suggested by all of you, But still the problem persists. And by safe mode I mean ff safe mode.
from filehippo.com download older version/s and try. one by one.
Do not install in same folder.
say c://program files/mozilla firefox 4.0 etc
I can use either Aurora or Firefox 5.0.1
The same problem also occurred with ff 4. So I used ff 3.6...
Have you selected the correct versions English British or U.S etc. wait ..........http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
Try British version . Install in separate folder.

Uninstall the current version using Revo uninstaller. Make sure you remove all the traces before reinstalling. Don't back up any settings and try the new version without add ons. Report if you are facing the same problem.

Thanks for the replies. I've again done a clean installation. Installed british version from mozilla website. I'll try this one and post results. Right now atleast problem seems solved.
Some add ons may cause problem. Install one by one and check if any particular add on is causing problems.

Confusing Post No 13 and 15.Please see post 1. I have disabled all addons and still the problem persists.
With without add ons British version normal or not ? Fresh installation of FF 5.0
Why go back to Post No 1?
Ok sorry for confusion. I did a fresh installation of normal ff 5 now. Deleted everything of previous setups, downloaded a new setup. Still having same problem.
see post 9 and consider Teamviewer option.
Revo is better. Give it a try.
(1)CCleaner: Harddisk space ? how much retrieved?
I could delete at least 350 MB from FF 5.0./Aurora files..
(2)Try a memory optimizer. application.
(3)Test: in SAFE mode delete all ADD ons except IETab.
open the browser FF5.0 normal mode and change over to IE mode.
Feedback.
Now after re installation new problem has arisen. Ff starts normally and crashes. Then after starting again it freezes and task manager is needed to end the process. Then again it crashes a few times and works normally then. I have not even installed one addon.
If you want Firefox browser5.0.1 only to be used , better download
Teamviewer and send your Id/PW to member of your choice.
so that they can check your system ONLINE.
or Swicth to IE8 or IE9 which does not need more memory like FF.
UPDATE CNET news:
In the world of browsers, Firefox has been sticking to its rapid release development cycle, and it's set to unleash some under-the-hood improvements that should make its fans happy. It's slated for 64-bit support, a reduction in memory usage, and an important update called Electrolysis
For future ref: Aurora
IE9
Both Firefox ( Aurora) and IE9
