    Default skype malware ?

    my windows hangs after some seconds of using skype...

    this problem started from this evening only.. i am running cdma reliance phone as modem.. cdma 1x
    (yesterday was bsnl)

    browsers ff and kemeleon both running fine..

    zone alarm firewall. and avast ...

    or it maybe like some kind of loop happening because i disabled some connections on firewall...

    pls help

    1. If in doubt, disable firewall and check.

    2. Reinstall skype and check.

    3. Try a video chat with Gmail or Yahoo messenger and confirm.

    reinstalled,..

    is it proper to run skype from older archive ( i have copied all program files of all apps i have on lappy on another disk)

    i am not using video chat using skype.. just calling..

    1. Nothing wrong in using an old set up if it is not corrupt. Check if it is working now. If not reinstall using the latest set up (download from net) and try.

    2. In that case, try a voice chat using any of the above said applications (try gmail voice chat if you do not have Yahoo) and check.

    3. If you have your BSNL modem (which you mentioned using last day) trying using it and check.

    Try in the order mentioned.

    3. irony, couldnt use bsnl modem today.. i have no balance.. downloaded 5 movies yesterday... forgot to check my balance.. will recrg tommorow

    old set up working fine untill now...

    let me wait till tommorow and feed here..

    thanks for the help Dilip...

    i clicked check upgrade. and it shows new upgrade available...

    but i will download it from bsnl tommorow...

    btw, upgradation doesnt mean they will hang my cmputer..

    Dilip it was not a problem with skype.. actually some problem with my reliance cdma phone's modem (or driver)...

    i saw that the hanging thing happened just after the connection was disconnected after sometime..

    I knew it then itself. That is why I checked if there is any way to check using your BSNL mobile. Since it was not available, the only option left was to check Skype for problems. Reinstall the drivers and check.

    yes you are right....

    i dont know how come i update the driver... cdma phones are supported too less.
