    Default some files disappeared.

    Its very creepy experience..
My default software folder (on downloads) is c:\user\admin\documents\softwares..
i downloaded around 10 softwares and one of them was a .zip (all from sourceforge)

all these files .msi , .exe and .zip have completely disappeared:|
i scanned. i saw if they were quarantined. i saw my file folder(where i save saved downloaded files-from internet program archive) didnt find there too..
trying recuva from last hour but really no help..

what can i do in such condition?? my lappy was switched off cause of low batt in late night... i forgot to keep on charge and slept..was there some kind of disc error that happened because of it??

    pls help

It could be possible that the files are hidden....check the show hidden folder option in file and folder view option under control pannel.
Not sure about it....but you can try whether it works or not..

Did your laptop turned off suddenly when your download manager was saving files??

I think your hard disk has some bad segments which is causing read/write errors.
The file might be trying to save itself at the bad segment of the hard disk which hdd is unable to save.....

Check with your local computer mechaninc....

Download Recuva and see whether "missing' files can be retrieved.

Ya i too feel that the sudden power off has resulted in faliure of some segments of hdd.

Have you faced this problem in any other folder/drive?
