    Default Windows Phone Review

    I recently got a chance to use a Windows mobile phone, and seriously it is not good. First of all it is not user friendly and everything is so confusing, secondly it is something which is best suited for tablets or as normal for your PC or laptop. While browsing the device I did not see anything special in it which appealed to me, I would say it is probably next to nothing. So I can clearly say that Android is much better unless you are someone who wants a change for the sake of it.

    What is your say on Windows mobile phones?

    Every new device or technology at first seems confusing and very different, it takes time to get used to new things, it is just a matter of trying it out for a couple of days and then comparing it.

    It is always good to try out things before you should judge them, so it is good to use the new software, device or whatever it maybe for a good 2 weeks in order to judge how good or bad it is.

    Well, in my opinion the Windows Phone's are not that much quicker or reliable as Android Phone's are, the thing which I really don't like about the Windows phone is not a user friendly. I used to use Windows phone but since I found it that it's not useful for me I switched to Android one's, there are many options in Windows which can confuse you easily like if you want to send an email to some when or want to see the attached file, it gives you totally uncomfortable experience not even I have "Viber on my Android and on Windows as well, the way Viber works on my Android is totally awesome the options the keyboard or many things. In Windows you see many things which are totally different from Android just because of the OS but still it should be user friendly. I checked the Windows Store and Android Play Store , there are huge difference between both of them many games or applications which are free on Android not free on Windows, even it doesn't look good to see. Still everyone has their own mind set to see things or use the technologies, but for me Windows Phones are not in the race of revolutionary world. The good thing which I found it in Windows phone is that they don't consume much battery life as compare to Android rest of there is nothing which actually can hold my interested and got my attention.

    I have used Andriod and iPhone, but never have had a chance of using windows phone. However, I have checked windows phones and I found it very boring. If you have already used Android phone and iPhone, windows phone will not attract you. There are few apps available for windows phone and it is very slow compared. Having said that tablets with Windows operating system are better.

    I too feel that Android is the best option to go for in a mobile in the present scenario. I have used both Windows and Android phones. I must say that Windows phone lacks user friendliness when compared to Android phones. Moreover why we should bother when we have enough Android models to choose from a wide variety of brands in the market. There are also a large number of applications available to us at our disposal.

    So, in short, I think Android is a clear winner and it is not easy for Windows to capture the market of Android phones.

    I have a windows phone that never hanged in the last one year, even once. I also have an android phone that hanged at least 4 time over the same period. For basic use, windows phone and android phones are not much different, though windows phone is smother as it requires much less RAM. Windows store is limited but most of the essential apps are there. And windows phone definitely handles word and excel files much better. The Windows UI is different, takes a little to get used to, but in a way is much quicker to access.

    A nice comparison I think. But recent research reports show that Windows OS has caused more than 80% of infections through mobile networks. I think this is an important demerit of Windows OS. This has happened because most of the phones connect to PCs using Windows and this in return cause an infection.

    Yes, Android phones sometimes hang and drain your battery so fast. Google Play is considered to be a major culprit behind this. It always looks for new updates from net and sometimes it get stuck and cause immediate draining of battery. So, it is always better to deactivate unnecessary applications.

    Google play services and Play store together eats up about 100 MB of RAM. There is no need to connect your phone to PC. Any file transfer can be done via web. The culprit is actually the Windows PC OS rather than windows phone OS. I use Linux on my Laptop.

    Windows phones are way behind in every aspect when compared to Apple or Android devices, and for a company as big as Microsoft, it's hard to know how they've managed to get it as wrong as they have.

    You only have to look at the Windows app store to realise just how much work is going to be needed to get it anywhere near competitive with its rivals, but that I think is something that even Microsoft have given up on it seems.

    Android is certainly rich in the matter of variety in applications. It is a fact that Apple dominated the space a few years ago. iOS was having many AAA rated games and applications. But time has changed now and Android took over iOS nicely and got a number of AAA rated applications of its own.

    In this aspect Windows is still at a third position. But who knows the situation may get changed with the advent of new Windows 10 OS. Windows is definitely working hard on that. Let's hope for the best.

    I don't even think that a mobile version of Windows 10 will help the situation were Windows mobile is concerned, it's trailing that far behind.

    The mobile market quickly turned in to a two horsed race and now, with android overtaking iOS as the most popular platform, I can see android disappearing into the distance.

    I think you are right. Windows is very far behind Android and iOS when mobile market is concerned. Android is the most popular mobile OS while iOS is closely following it. Now there is no room for a third party. But as Windows has already proved themselves in PC market, in the same way they can grab a good share of market if they are determined to.

    I think it would be better if they can come up with something exclusively for handsets than using the same old Windows version.

    I simply hate the Windows phone UI and, I feel Android to be much better when it comes to user interface. Second thing that I don't like about Windows phone is the lack of variety of apps. iOS and Android are far ahead in terms of variety of apps, and Windows phones don't have much option regarding this. However, RAM optimisation and smoothness is better in Windows phones when compared to Android and it's good for basic use.

    I think that the Windows platform will always have some followers when it comes to mobile devices, as they are easy to use once you've got used to them.

    The UI is totally different from the other platforms and I think that maybe that alone will keep a lot if their usersbase as some may just get used to using those devices rather than having to get used to iOS or Android.

    I case of windows, all my regularly apps are part of a single desktop, readily accessible at just one touch. For the same number of apps my android phone needs 3 screens, so 2-3 touch are required to access them.

    Well, I have a Nokia Lumia 830 with Windows 10 Mobile Build 10581 and I can assure the system is better than Windows Phone 8.1.
    Microsoft improved the user interface;
    The Microsoft Edge promises to boost performance compared to Internet Explorer;
    New keyboard;
    iOS and Android apps, because Microsoft will allow Android Java and C++ code from Android apps to run on Windows 10 Mobile.

    Windows 10 mobile is the "now or never" for Microsoft in mobile field.

    Yes, I've heard the new Nokia Lumia with Windows 10 is a vast improvement. A friend of mine had an older Windows phone and he absolutely hated it. He traded it in only a month after he bought it. He is now a devout Android user and has no plans to go back to a Windows phone. I think Microsoft have an uphill battle as far as the mobile market is concerned. Their reputation is not the best.

    Here in Brazil, when it comes to Windows Phone is always associated with "low amount of apps". Really this is a current problem. For example: I work with solar energy, and the inverters used apps to the user to check information in real time. The fact is that there is only app in PlayStore and AppStore. I do not know the reason for the lack of Apps on Windows Phone.

    Forgetting the problem of apps. Microsoft is investing a lot of money to Windows 10 Mobile to enter the fray in fact in the mobile phone market.

    Really in the past, Windows Phone is very weak with a bad interface and no basic features when compared to Android and IOS.

    It is at first confusing to use, even now I still get confused while handling one, no matter how many times I have borrowed my friend's phone to do something. But honestly the phone sucks, it is behind in the phone race, as it lacks a lot applications other phones are able to have and these applications are ones almost everyone uses, it is the last to get new update features and it takes forever to get the updates to the app store, there still isn't snapchat in the window app store. It is a phone for users, who don't require much modern features on the phone and are patient beings.

    I agree with you. In the past, Windows Phone is a trash, but now with Windows 10 Mobile Preview it is so much better than before. I recommend to do a test, I have a Lumia 830 and I am loving.
