    Default Windows Vista Installation

    Hi,

My system configuration is Intel Pentium 4 3.0Ghz pricessor, Intel original 945 chipset mother board with 1 GB Ram. No graphic card.
When I tried to install Windows vista Ultimate or even Home basic
after entering the serial no installation goes on but after restart I found a long text message and below that text message boot option i.e. boot from CD/DVD. There after nothing happens the system to get halted with this text message. What is the problem I am unable to understand.
Anybody can explain step by step installation procedure of Windows Vista?

    Thanks a lot.
    Ramesh.

after entering serial no and restart, system should not boot from CD. But CD should be inside CD drive for setup.

you need to change your boot device for this you can change the first boot device from BIOS

at startup if you dont press any key to boot from CD then it goes to second boot device which should be your hard drive where you are trying to install operating system...
