Default Unable to install windows xpsp2

    Hi

I am trying to install windows xpsp2 on my system where it's not going any further than Setup is inspecting your hardware configuration, I have already tried lot many time but still setup is failing while inspecting hardware configuration of my system. Last error which i recived was Setup was unable to load serial.exe, serial.exe is corrupted
Right now i have Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn installed on this computer and all hardware devices and motherboard is working fine on this system as i was using Windows Vista Ultimate on same system before this, do you think my windows xpsp disc is corrupted or something else.

    Thanks for all replies

I got that installed by same disc on same system without facing any issues the only thing i did was
Went to ubuntu and installed disc management application, then deleted one partition of disc and got the space as unallocated.

Tried to install it again and it worked fine without any issues or without any error message, now my system is working fine on windows xpsp2 pro

    Hi *itsmemad*,

First of all, thank you for your compliments.

Regarding smoothvibes' query, I wouldn't have been able to help him.

I always install Windows with a clean hard-disk, I mean without any partitions on it. Only then I start to play with Linux stuff. In case someone installs Linux (any distribution) first, then installs Windows mean, the boot loader would be occupied by Windows. To get Linux back, one has to spend another 5 to 60 min depending on the Linux distribution (in this case, suselinux does this job quite quickly). Moral: Install Windows, then start your fun time with any linux distribution.
    Thanking you again,
    Pothi Kalimuthu.
