have YOUTELECOM broadband

Dynamic ip - 192kb/s unlimited connection. i use dialer

Earlier i had Static ip & utorrent used to work normal.

I've the latest version of utorrent.

Till jan this year utele used to give static ip to all unlimited users but after that they made dyanamic ips compulsory if u change the plan or r a new user.

QUeries -

1.Is it due to the dynamic ip?

2.I tested for port access and it is showin normal (check caps below)

3.Do i've 2 chage some settings as now i've dynamic ip and not static?

4.Can i discuss utorrent issue with youtelecom telecallers helpline or is it 'illegal' to discuss about torrents or p2p sharing with ISP providers?

Pls help, cos i recently changed my 92kb/s plan to 192kb/s plan for better speed on torrents and if this aint working, then i may as well cancel my plan.

1. It may be due to dynamic IP as it is same most of the Tata Wimax users, till the time wimax users are on dynamic IP they don't get proper speed but as soon as they config static IP speed comes back to normal (but i am not sure for You Telecom)

2. If ports are forwarded properly then please check it with your ISP that if they are blocking p2p traffic or something.

3. You really need not to change any settings like that but you can try port forwarding to get proper or better speed

4. It is not illegal to talk about torrents to your ISP but they will not support you for torrents or p2p.

I was a youtelecom(265kbps Unlimited) customer for 6 months from Jan this yr... And yes, as u said, they provided a dynamic ip... I also used utorrent... And I used to get maximum speeds of 24-28kBps... but it fluctuated a lot(I guess cuz of dynamic ip)... and some times it came as low as 10-15 kBps... I guess they provide static ip address if u apply for that... but they charge u extra... U can opt for that... else youtele is no good for download purpose... I was bearing with it cuz for online gaming it was really good... perhaps best...

U don't have to change any settings cuz of dynamic address...

I would suggest use utorrent 1.7.x version... or 1.8 beta... people say 1.8 stable isn't good...

If u want to discuss utorrent with youtele CC, go ahead... but I don't think they will be of much help...

You Tele CC will not do anything about it coz ISP's really don't support p2p

You don't need to port forward utorrent with youtele...

@itsmemad - i guess if it worked for ur dynamic ip,it should work for me.our sole purpose for taking unlimited connection is p2p(for u of course its gamin too) & if these guys prevent us from that, v may as well goto the cybercafe just 2 check our mails.

I'm using BSNL's 500 c+ plan(2.5 GB/month limit)... Maximum speed I get is 200-210 kBps in torrents... only hitch is that its only 2-8 am unlimited... but in those 6 hrs... I download around 4 GB of data! I have to control myself from watching videos from youtube or video conference during limited hours...

I am using Tata Wimax

does this network is having the dynamic id or we can use to share fikles in rapidshare and all.... let me know abt this...

am using airtel and have to use port forwarding because i have a router to which laptop connects

not sure how youtele works

hello everyone,

well the problem is that YOU Telecom blocks P2P tranfers on weekdays especially during business hours (9am to 9pm)
try downloading on weekends i.e. saturday 9am to monday 9am & guaranteed you will get full download speed as per your plan

i have the same problem...reported it 1c, YOU people said that there was no blocking but after i persisted that you are blocking, they allowed for a few weeks but now again they are blocking...

its for sure...we are 3-4 frnds here who faced the same problem...still facing...

I was facing the same problem i.e. (torrent speed got dead slow (0-1 Kbps) after getting plan changed from Unlimited night angle 256Kbps plan with static IP to UN-450 192Kbps unlimited plan with dynamic IP address from YOU Telecom).
in this UN-450 plan i m using user id and password to connect internet. But in earlier plan user id and password was not required.

Earlier i was using bitlord as a torrent client. but now i m using BitComet and it is working fine with good download speed i.e.(18 - 25 KBps for 192Kbps unlimited connection).

One of my friend facing the same problem with tata indicom broad band and Bitcomet is working fine in his case also.

Just Try to use BitComet Torrent Client Hop it will work for u all.....

And please reply me back is it working or not????

i want to change from bsnl 512kbps unlimited plan to maybe the 1mb telecom unlimited plan they are the same price..but how are the speeds i need constant high speeds.currently im gettin with the bsnl plan 53-63KBps if this 1mb plan can give me constant speeds of higher then 60-1mb ill still get it but i need it to be all day speeds no drops under 60s i need it for gaming on ps3, currently its too sloww for my new game i bought modern warfare2, plus i have a slingbox i watch american tv with...please help
