I'd recommend Airtel for its better connection and excellent customer service. They've various unlimited offers too which varies from state to state. Enjoy staying with Airtel.

I came to Mumbai less than a month ago. I needed a broadband and knowing Indian service, I applied for two connections simultaneously - YouTelecom and Tata (other providers are not available in my area).
YouTelecom reacted very fast - Sales Rep called me back 5-10 minutes after online order! He came the same day (his name is Gopal Mall) to collect money for modem deposit, installation and first monthly fee. He promised that it will take 2-3 days to get my broadband working because the building is already connected and there are some YouTele customers already. So I was very happy and even thought of canceling Tata application.
And then it began - 3 days passed with no any communication from YouTele, I had to call 10-30 times every day (because very often they don't take the phone and you just pay 1 Rs / minute listening to beeps), sending text messages to my Sales guy. Finally, after 5 days cable guys came, quite fast they made a hole for a cable and put in inside my flat.
Then YouTele disappeared again and I started to attack them with text messages and phone calls again until another technician arrived with a modem. He came, he configured everything, he could use Internet using his "support" account, but my personal account was still not working - he told me that it will start working in 30 minutes and left. I was so naive to believe him and to let him go, because now I spent whole week trying to get another technician or whoever. My login still doesn't work and I'm quite sure it's like 1-2 minute work for them to fix it - on their side, they don't even have to come. But they are just ignoring it. Sales Rep doesn't take phone, doesn't reply to messages, official customer email doesn't reply, when you call - you only hear promises.
Tata reacted to the online application slower, prices are a bit higher, but having those problems with YouTele, I decided to pay and see what happens. I got my broadband working in 5 days from the online order placement! First I got a call from Sales Rep, he came and charged me, then I got a verification call from somebody asking if I paid and how much was it. Then in 2 days with absolutely no calls or whatever - cable guys came, and just 30 minutes after them - engineer. However, engineer couldn't install it in one day - he had quite a low technical level. So he came again next day and finally fixed it.
Now I'm a happy user of Tata broadband - I have 512Kbps unlimited plan and speed is always exactly 512. I'm very happy with the fact that VSNL/Tata has their own links to Europe also, and they even bought Teleglobe - so they have networks throughout the planet now. It means more stability.
I dunno about their after sales service though - I had no need so far.
YouTele is in fact reselling VSNL/Tata traffic so technically speaking it gives twice more possibilities of problems/outages/interruptions.
Hope this post helps somebody!
