I think in my case, it is the best service provider ..

I had no problems with YOU..

I am a Hyderabad customer of YOU for the past 3 Years with Night angel plan -256KBPS (Night 10 to morning 10) with Sunday full day service...

This plan costs me Rs. 521 per month- Unlimited downloads.. On an average speed is upto 200kbps..

I had faced minor problems but all were solved promptly with in given frame of time by the YOU personnel...

I have not faced any problem with payment as this is a prepaid plan and I pay thru online billing for which I pay Rs. 29/- less and I get 7 extra days of surfing..

I feel that YOU is the BEST>>

I am also thinking of using the VOIP service. how easy is to setup it?

    thanks smooth
My friend had bsnl and he was telling me the customer service is very bad.
initial few days were good. after a month or so, he tried some voip service, so changed the original connection, router-voip adapter-PC
after that it stopped working and when he tried to reconnect back to the original connection, nothing worked. he called the bsnl service guys and didnt get the service he was expecting.
now he is going for youtel. i m currently using the rel datanet, so was thinking to go with youtel aswell.

thnks anyway. will have a look at bsnl on this forum.

yes just check BSNL as it got maximum number of satisfied users and exceptions are always there, i know about BSNL cust care but according to just4kix if you talk to them in a very polite and calm manner then they offer proper support and help and i trust his words

Yup. Patience and perseiverence (sp?) is the key with BSNL. Also keep the local linesman happy during Diwali baksheesh. Never loose your temper, talk sweetly and they will relent from their stiff positions.

You Telecom has been excellent for Me!

With only 2days of downtime a year, maximum speed of 2mbps (240 to 270 kBps) and average CC response time of 30 minutes, they are amazing.

But I too am moving to BSNL for Night Unlimited.

In Hyderabad, it is good service as long as you do not have to keep in touch with their customer care, or if you do not have any plan to terminate it. If you plan to terminate it they will 'kill' you!!

    • Sify (Pune)- 9 for downloads, 7 for support, 6 for online games...

Yup... Thats what I experienced with You... Speed fluctuates a lot when downloading large files... Support is worst... They take time for everything...

Sify's service and support had been satisfactory for me....

    People,

This is a thread that is asking rating for a broadband provider called YOU TELECOM. It was previously known as Iqara.

This thread is NOT asking opinion on any other broadband service provider. So please stick to the topic. If you wish to give or collect opinion on your own provider, please start your own thread.

I have deleted all irrelevant posts in this thread.

    Thank you.

    Angry Very Creepy service provider...

I have been with You tele for over a year and a half in Vashi,Navi Mumbai. They are real cheats for sure.. why? here are the reasons.

    1. They sign you up on a plan and they internally put you on something else.. Right from day one, I have been opting for the 2Mbps plans pre-paid. And on three different occassions when I complained on speed, I was told that I was ona 512 kbps plan.

    2. Speed never flows in the pipe.. When I first signed up, i took the shared modem.. speed sucked big time. Then I decided to try out the dedicated cable modem.. the speed made no improvements. One fellow also told me candidly that the modem does not improve speeds when the lspeed in the cable itself is low.

    3. They indulge in a lot of false responses. I have repeatedly complained on the speed and they have failed to fix it till date.. typical process.. customer complains on speed.. the technician comes only at a time when you(the main knowledgeable guy) is not at home.. he removes the curbs on the line speed at the backend before coming home.. comes home .. shows the wife that all is well... makes you believe that you are making false complaints and after 15-30 mins its back to lousy speeds.. this is a deefinite pattern observed... Definitely in Vashi area dunno about the other areas.

    4. Downloading is a problem.. If you start a download the speed drops slowly to 0 kbps, thereby preventing any downloads of 5 Mb and above

    5. My last renewal was due in April and I still have not renewd the contract... I had placed two complaints prior to the renewal and they were closed by the technicians even without verifying the complaints or visiting/chatting with the customer.. The service cell actually maintains that the technician visited and solved the problem!! Over the last month I have been getting repeated calls for renewal and I have kept them at a distance.. I had recently escalated the matter to the nodal manager..Somebody called Sunil Ahire.. Initially the guy seemed keen to solve the problem.. Later the guy does not even show up despite assurances.. Next day I called up this guy and he says he is responsible for backend issues and not front end matters.. That was the last straw...

I signed up with them in the past because I dont want wires running through my house by the MTNL triband guys.. Dunno if I should give these cheats one more try or sign up with a wireless broadband guy...

    cheers
    Krishna:

The major advantage of youtele as compared to other isp's is that you plans have more free downloadable mbs.

    Default You Telecom in Dahanukar

I have had You tele in Pune Dahanukar Colony for the last three years. I was on the 192 Suvidha Unlimited plan. It was going fantastic, till about 6 months back with maybe 2-3 Service disruptions a year.

Since then, The quaity has gone down the drain. I have disruptions up the wazoo, atleast twice a week.

I asked them to switch me to the 368kbps plan which was at the same price. This was close to two months back, they never did it.

I am finally fed up and disconnected the service since yesterday.

Even i have the same 192kbps plan, I must say that its quality is going down day by day. Atleast i dont have constant disconncetivity problem but the page loading & downloading has become pretty lame. Sundays especially seems to be the worst day. I also pay extra for static Ip, now i feel its not good for the money i pay!

    Angry Youtele is worst

Hey dont go for you telecom, I already use you telecom initially when they launch in hyd its good now they are not providing accurate speed, (I have taken youtele broadband 512kbps but i am getting 128kbps) and also you are planning to go for voip. so my best suggestion is to take airtel broadband its ultimate and best in service.

Default Words just don't mean a thing

Personal experiences and subjective opinions don't mean crap on such forums unless you are discussing customer support or billing issues, there are readily available online tools to measure the quality and safely level of your ISP. Use those and post test results to compare them against the bandwidth your ISP promised you.
Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test
    https://www.dns-oarc.net/oarc/services/dnsentropy

the speed is 1/8th of wht thy promise
It's a rule of thumb, the speed ISPs promise is in Kbps or Mbps. Your download speed as seen in your browser is in kBps or MBps. 1 Byte = 1024 bits. If you divide the speed or bandwidth that your ISP promised you by 8, you will get approximately your download speed in KBps or MBps, that's bytes not bits.
    Heres a conversion tool, http://www.online-unit-converter.com...transfer-rate/

If you are a Windows OS user never click on those free online PC scans or PC performance tests. They are .exe files that cause spyware to be installed on your machine. Watch what happens if i click on "Instant Scan" on my Linux machine.

    @above...
    i know tht 2MBps=2048kbps =256KBps
when i put up the YOUBB i took up the 2MBps plan, so i shud get 256kBps....but i got around 30kBps......So i posted i got 1/8th of promised speed.....I know the conversion of kilobytes to kilobits.....so please dont teach me......

How else did in know my speed was 1/8th , it was because i checked in speedtest.net....If u wnt me to post those results now, i cant bcoz i am using bsnl bb now which gives the actual speed promised.....
