I have used 3 ISPS so far at different places, MTNL, Tata Broadband and You telecom. I have listed them in their order of quality.
You telecom has been the worst, with no customer support at all. I never used to receive their bills on time.They would generate the bill on 1st, having due date of 15th and post it only around 7th or 8th. That too by normal post. Bombay to New Bombay it would take around 4-5 days to reach (if lucky). That leaves you only a day or so, in most cases, I'd receive the bill after due date. Then they'd charge late payment charges. In case, bill is received in time (max. 1-2 day before due date) I would drop the cheque in their drop box on date. Still they would charge me for late payment. Why? Because it takes 3 days for them to get the cheque and another 2 to clear it through banking channels. And they "charge late payment charges if cheque is not
Cleared before due date" That is ridiculous. Not even credit card company (known to be alert for timely payments) does this. Number of times, I have proven this to their customer service by sending the post makred envelope scanned. No response. Next bill comes with the late payment charges.
On top, they are prompt (within 2 hours) to discontinue the service is the usage goes beyond specified credit limit but do not restart it after bill is payed for 3-4-5 days whatever they feel like. Thats absurd.
In past, I have gone to the level of VP (services). No difference. They are all the same.
So all in all, its a waste of time and I hope my 10 mins of typing this out and yours 5 reading it, saves you a whole lot of time wasted if you dont subscribe to you telecom.
