I doubt in this one, Prepaid to post paid is possible but not sure about the vice versa.

Hey why she will pay migr charges? Its not so. They show in Grahak Jago ads that those companies asking for migr charges can be dealt with laws. I think its quite possible to migrate back and forth.

I think this is the best option, prepaid is better that postpaid, atleast for myself!

I am not too sure about number retainibility. I wanted to convert my son's postpaid to prepaid. I checked with iDEA and they refused. Perhaps it is possible but they are refusing to do it. They think that the customer will not go thru the hassle of changing number.

Airtel Allows postpaid to prepaid conversion and thats easy go to Airtel Customer Point and apply, they will provide you with form and do the needful, but it takes time and do clear all your bills before hand and security deposit if any will lapse, do ask executive about it. Conversion takes time in my friends case it took 2 days but beware sometime it might take a week or so, which happened with my vodafone number.

I have an Airtel postpaid connection ( ). I intend to travel out of country for some months and was wondering if there is a way to retain my number by converting to one of the lifetime validity schemes (scams)?

    Please advice. Any inputs welcome.

Airtel Has a service for postpaid customers to retain there numbers for lower rent, You can call Airtel customer care for more details. I dont remember but I know for sure as my friend uses it when ever he visits abroad, but he only uses it when he is visiting for 2-3 months. The Number goes to temporarily out of service mode at a lower service charge. or you can opt for a advance rental plan or convert to Prepaid.

Airtel has a service called Safe custody for Postpaid mobiles through which you can retain your number for 3 months while you are not using it and service is free of cost. Contact Airtel Relationship center in your area.

If possible one time conversion to prepaid is the best option.
