    Sat, 2000-01-01 00:01:40 - Administrator login successful - IP:192.168.0.2

have another Type I modem (SmartAX 882) and I am successfully able to connect with same id and password through PC dial-up (WAN Miniport PPPOE).
    Check authentication mode.

    2.
    NetgearDGN1000 In PPPoE mode failure.

    CHAP authentication failed:
    try auto mode if available.
Use "Bridged" dialer mode as for MT 882.
MTU MRU if in PPPoE mode 1460.

Post as attachment JPG connection status page.

    1. try auto mode if available.
Use "Bridged" dialer mode as for MT 882.
MTU MRU if in PPPoE mode 1460.

    1. I have tried all mode ADSL (G.MDT), ADSL2, ADSL2+ and AUTO (Multi-Mode) but no luck.
    2. Bridged dialer mode is not avaiable in Netgear modem
    3. Changed MTU size to 1460 still not working

    Change encaspulation mode :
    Select NO to question:
Does your ISP need log in with Id PW etc ?
    Log from computer window.

    If Yes:PPPoE
    different page.
    http://screenshots.portforward.com/N...c_Settings.htm
    Advanced WAN:
    top box selected ?
    http://screenshots.portforward.com/N.../WAN_Setup.htm

    {Authentication : I meant AUTO/CHAP/ PAP /MSCHAP as seen in MT882.
could not find it in Netgear
    }.

    Reported working MTU value 1430.
    Confirm LAN mode OK.

    feedback.

Problem is solved… There was some problem from Exchange end.

Let me explain here what the exact problem was.

I have changed broadband password through (hxxp://ssss-multiplay.bsnl.co.in:8080/ssssportal.war/home.jsp) on 29/11/2011. Password was successfully changed but I was unable to login with new password. I was getting "CHAP authentication failed" error in NETGEAR Router log. Then I called Broadband helpline on 30/11/2011 evening and they reset my password to default i.e "password". Still I was not getting internet through NETGEAR Router. Then I have checked with Type I modem (SmartAX 882) and configured (Dial-up/WAN Miniport PPPOE) in my laptop. I found I was able to login with new password (changed on 29/11/2011) successfully not with default password i.e. "password". (Plz note password already changed by help desk). So again I checked through NETGEAR Router but no luck. So I think something needs to refresh / configure in Exchange side also.

Today morning I got a call from Exchange and then I asked them to reset my password. They changed the password and told me they are successfully able to login with my default password from their end. But still I was not able to login. Now I have check NETGEAR router log and I found no more "CHAP authentication failed" error. But now modem stuck up after this message “Initialize LCP” and LCP was unable to come up. Again I called Exchange people and they told there is some problem in server end and asked me to check after sometime.

After 10-15 mins I am successfully able to browse internet through NETGEAR Router without any change in my existing settings.

So my request to everybody please don't try to change broadband password. It might be painful for you.
