Normally it is username@bsnl.co.in which can be accessed at mail.bsnl.in with password as password. It works for me and used to check some time back when I had a limited connection.

If you do not have any specific purpose for having a BSNL ID, better use Gmail or other standard providers for various reasons. Because once you change your ISP you loose your email account too. And BSNL is highly unreliable and you may loose your data if something goes wrong with their servers. But it is always your choice.

I would not have required bsnl email id under normal circumstances but the thing is I want to become a member of a forum(Bharat Rakshak) for which i require this email id.(google, yahoo or any other free email id is not allowed).
The method you suggested is not working so do you have any other suggestion?

Talk to Broadband section (J.T.O ) of your Exchange and ask for the ID.
    PW default password.
    J.T.O :Junior Technical Officer.
    for instance mine : essbebe_xxxx @ bsnl.in
XXXX last 4 numbers of my telephone number.
Yours could be different. Depends on circle.

In case you decide to discontinue BSNL BB all folders stored in their
web mail site will be lost.

Talk to broadband section of your exchange or district HQ. Your email ID is created when you get a connection, they just need to give you the credentials which they can prompt after check the system. Try and update.

Some at BSNL practice bluffing as a good tool to escape from queries. You can

Talk to broadband section of your exchange or district HQ. Your email ID is created when you get a connection, they just need to give you the credentials which they can prompt after check the system. Try and update.
Talk to more than one person if the reply is negative and suspicious.

@SCORPIO90 ... You can also check from hxxp://data.bsnl.in/wps/portal URL if your Broadband connection has 117.x.x.x range IP. Log into above URL with your portal id and password then click on the link "Manage Passwords" and then click on "Change Email Password"

    Screen shot attached.

    @rahool 26

@scorpio needs an EMail ID first. Not for changing password.

    My Ip is 117.xxx.xx.xx
I can get logged in ONLY with the Third ID for email. see Post No 4.

This website is not available for Usage check now for most users.
( except for Chennai and probably Kolkata users Metro circles)
which you can log with a 14 digit portal ID. I can.
    http://data.bsnl.in/wps/portal

Other users REGISTER at respective selfcare portals with own choice of
    ID. selfcare.ndc.bsnl.co.in etc.

@essbebe... I am from Bangalore and I am able to check my data usage from (data.bsnl.in/wps/portal) portal.

@scorpio needs an EMail ID first. Not for changing password.

I know what he required. I am not asking him to reset password. This is another way you can check mail id.

I have already pasted screen shot. Do you want me to provide more details / screen shot?

For your kind information after first time log in to (data.bsnl.in/wps/portal) you can also change your portal id as you like.

    1.
Confirm that any bsnl BB user can access data.bsnl.in
with the original 14digitID if given
    (or modified by user )?
or with the ID registered in self care portal by the user ?
    Please update this thread also.
    http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-b...tml#post347349

    ( probably selfcare.ndc.bsnl.co.in for @scorpio90)
( Lucknow user )possible he can also access data.bsnl.in ?

    2.
In Manage Passwords menu page , the EMAIL ID automatically will appear ?

    3. Thanks for info Bengaluru users also access data.bsnl.in portal.

    4.
Normally no need for me to access the usage portal ( Home750 plan.)
Datafox add on +Firefox ( or Chrome) gives usage data. if needed.

    1. I cannot confirm that anyone can access data.bsnl.in. But if Broadband IP range starting from 117.x.x.x then they should access data.bsnl.in. either with the original 14digitID if given (or modified by user). I never register myself in selfcare portal.

    2. Yes.

    3. I already mentioned in point no 1 that if Broadband IP range starting from 117.x.x.x then they should access data.bsn.in.

    4. I am also using BSNL Broadband Usage 2.5.exe (How to check BSNL Broadband usage) for checking data usage.

In Manage Passwords menu page , the EMAIL ID automatically will appear ?
    YES.
At least Once you should enter your email ID.
I had to enter the email Id and now it is stored.

. I already mentioned in point no 1 that if Broadband IP range starting from 117.x.x.x then they should access data.bsn.in.
    NOT correct.

The purpose of decentralising Usage check by users , with 4 self care portals is defeated. ( with more options compared to data.bsnl.in)

Also users with 59.xx.xx.xx are being allotted new ID and Ip 117.xx.xx.xx

Signature link below USAGE (45,000 hits so far) is being updated
    by members/users and myself.

I made a call on 1504 and discussed the problem regarding the password for BSNL selfcare. They told me that the only option was to forward a complaint and expect the relevant authorities to heed to it and reset my password and mail it to my email id.Someone tell me if he was giving the right information or is it a hogwash?

@essbebe I am thinking of visiting the DGM(A/T) Office here in Lucknow. If problem persists then I will PM you.
Just to check if all the time I am investing in solving this problem,is it worth it. Or should I go for some other paid email account.Recommend if any....

    from website:
PLEASE NOTE: Free email addresses e.g. hotmail.com, yahoo.com, gmail.com, rediff.com, etc are NOT allowed.
Being a Defence Forces portal, to ensure, that they can .access your location/address etc , if email address is @bsnl.in @airtel.in etc etc.

    2.
You have to access self care portal
(No help for email problem , but can make a complaint here ))
    to check usage,
    change of Tariff plan
Change of Passwords, some telephone related menu/s
    Check telephone Bill etc

I am surprised , to get an email ID your Exchange is not
helpful. Takes less than 5 minutes in South ( Chennai ) As per your application email ID is stored in the computer ( with userID PW other details )

May be we have to wait for U.P to be split into four States
    for a better work culture.

You should have seen the state BSNL was in during the summer season.I can assure you that the whole of Lucknow suffered when all the roads were dug up for laying down the sever line.Took BSNL forever to get things started again and still only the posh areas are getting uninterrupted service.
And TO HECK WITH THE OFFICIAL MACHINERY, let's try out if you can get the things going.Tell me what all I need to send you in the PM?
