in2net broadband connection review

I have subscribed for in2net broadband service. I have been using it since past 6 months now. This is a small feedback if it helps someone. I have this service in Malad West.

The good is that you get good speed at affordable prices, that MTNL or other operators simply can't provide. The biggest problem for in2broadband service is that there is no escalation matrix. The cable operators / internet dealers run it as they want to. That is primarily because the societies and the managing committee get tie ups with only a single cable company which gives them monopoly. While their broadband plans are good, service is a major problem. I keep trying to reach their customer care and get connected once in 20 times. Even then it depends if I get a proper response. I have been given the connection but trying to get the wiring done which was to be done with the installation plan and that has taken weeks. Still it is not done. People do not pick up calls, have strange policies of not sharing mobile numbers.

I wonder why are other business men not looking forward to set up broadband companies and capture this cable market.

Is this some new service provider, or a local connection?

Your response to this problem should be getting rid of the service and switch to BSNL or MTNL whatever is available. You said society so I assume it is not a very old building and my guess is the telephone cables must be in good condition and would support a stable adsl connection provided the exchange is not more then 4-5 kilometers away.

Its cable company offering cable broadband based connection. They usually have in2net broadband, hathway and tie up with other cable companies. Here at our place they are giving in2net only. The broadband service provider name is in2net (also refers as in2broadband). please search.

The building is not old, and it is a tower. So you can't doubt facilities and its not like being an old one that cable operators wont have profit improving service. Many people are on MTNL but the problem is it never provides speeds that high (10 to 15 mbps). Working on alternatives. Really wonder why only one cable company is allowed to enter premises.

Any idea on how much speed can dish antennas provide and cost. Also, how is the ipTV service ?

Thanks for the info Jay! I have noticed that cable services have improved lately and they provide a better and more reliable service than the bigger broadband companies.

I use a connection from a cable operator these days and service is good. Speed I get is good too but it goes down when there is a power cut longer then 8 hours. Cable operators dont intentionally provide bad service.. It is just that they dont know any better thats all.

If your work requires you to have a connection that fast then you could just get a 1Mbps or 2Mbps mtnl broadband connection and use a remote desktop on a VPS. OVH has recently started that and a VPS with decent specs would cost $10 per month and speed you get is 100Mbps. Cannot get any better. I used remote desktops in the days when 256kbps used to be called broadband and getting 150kbps speed was something to be proud of. I used to do most of my work on remote desktop using a VPS. Only used to download stuff that I badly needed locally else just worked remotely. Works like a charm.

If you mean Satellite connection then it costs a bomb and 512kbps or 1mbps is as good as it gets with latency as high as 1200-1500ms just to ping a server in the same city as yours. Doing a round trip from space back to earth cant be expected to happen in less then 1.5seconds. Opening webpages is like living in the dark ages. It is a solution for places where there is no mobile network or other broadband service available for example places like Antartica, Greenland etc or up in the Himalayas where there is no infrastructure.


IPTV is not used to access the internet. IPTV works fine as long as the cables are good. It is not a means to access the net on your computer if thats what you are asking.
