Default Do you own a forum?

    Hey folks!

Forum is something like social media where members are giving their opinions. Do you own a forum or do you moderate on a forum?

I am moderating two forums and that is not easy job. You have to be online at least three hours per day.

Ice owned a couple of forums in the past but not anymore. I still moderate on them and I used to moderate on a few others but at the moment I have a lot of work on.

Like you say it can be time consuming, and I didn't have the time to commit to them so decided to pass them over to others.

I own a Forum and couple of Blogs. And yes, it's time consuming, specially when you are doing the admin activities also, your own. I have a separate job too and that makes it all very heavily time consuming, at times.

Admin activities are very hard. I agree with you. Could you send me a link via PM so I see your forum and if I like it, I will register?

I enjoy posting on forums, I will open my own forum for a few months.

I think depending how big the forum is, depends on if you need admin to help you or not. At the start when the forum is a still growing, it is possible to do it all yourself, but as it continues to grow you then have to try and find people you can trust to help you out.

I agree with you. At the start, you just have to make topics and to advertise your forum. When your forum become bigger, maybe 20,000 members, it will be hard to do anything. In that case, you'll need more staff team.

I can send you the details however, I just hope it's not against the Forum rules here. My Forum is for a specific niche and might not attract one if s/he not in to that niche.

I believe, having an offline business plan is also necessary there days. "dot com" days are well gone by now and having merely a website online does not really help you earn money if you are really serious about such a business...

Online and offline advertising are more important these days than ever, and I agree that the dot com boom we saw a few years ago, while hasn't gone completely, its definitely slowed down a lot, and more and more people are looking at various other ways to increase their market share.

You can send me your forum link via PM. That is probably allowed. What you mean by that "offline".
