    Default how to change my default browser from mozilla

    sir

    how to change my default browser from mozilla ff 3 beta 5 to mozilla ff 3.5.1??

    i can change java version by alternative -install and alternatives --config command.


    is that similar procedure for mozilla ff??

    It depends upon the confuration you are using. In *nix everyting is controlled by plain text files. system level settings are specified in /etc/profile. User profile will be in /home/username and specific shell assigned to the user. You chan change the path to ff in /etc/profile so that it point to the correct version which will be in /usr/bin (link to actual folder/file)

    Hey whwmike...just curious on the changing..I am a newbie here and would like to learn from you and the rest of the members here..am I right in saying that to change to an upgraded one is to download it?

    Hi matrix..nice ..actually I have no knowledge or familiar with this things..and your response to this give me the idea on how to do it if ever i will decided to change mine..thanks

    You can go through :
    IE-Tools-Internet Options-Programs.
    Check the box "Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the
    default browser"
    Close IE and reopen it.
