I hope that there is no need to install all those updates before upgrading from 8.10 to 9.04, because I am hoping that all those updates would be there in this new package, and I had just downloaded the iso this morning when I yesterday accidentally came upon the news that Jaunty has been released.

i'm having a problem now with Ubuntu. I was able to use the "Visual Effects", namely, Normal and Extra before I just updated the video driver (ATI Radeon Xpress 200). Now that I have installed this Proprietary driver, it shows "Desktop Efects could not be enabled".

If you can't help me please suggest me some good Ubuntu forum with good support (not ubuntuforums.org- they are not much supportive in this case as I see it).

Thanks. I use flock as my default browser. IE i just need to reset the internet settings. I used the one through control panel. Still the same story. Please take a look at the post virus in registry. I will post the screen shots there.

Can I use IE8 in my system. Mine is a non genuine XP. My system is infected with a virus kooly Noody, to remove which I need to reset the internet settings. Which is not available in IE 6.

I used comodo, it resets my network settings to 169....... instead of 192.168........ I cannot work even if i disable the firewall. I had to reinstall windows twice. Then i used zone alarm free. It does not allow to manipulate any of the settings. Then went for NIS, some program was downloading heavily and i have no clue which it is. In my Bitmeter it shows downloading. I have no option but to switch off the modem. So yesterday i changed to sygate. Now it is like this. Till I find a solution i have to disable the firewall for these works. I thought of not using any firewall. But I use utorrent. So won't it be risky?
