IDEA or VODAFONE, which has the best coverage in KERALA

Which one has the best network coverage in kerala? especially rural areas,

idea or vodafone

as i travel a lot which one would be the best in terms of network coverage?

Idea is the best one to choose for the Kerala region. But make sure you avoid Reliance which has very poor performance.

There is no doubt that Idea is one of the best telecom players in Kerala, but they lack penetration in rural areas. The network coverage in remote villages is really very low which makes it a difficult task to access net. I think they are not interested to focus on areas which have low business potential. If you need speedy, uninterrupted Internet, there is no other way but to go for BSNL landline. But their service quality is really a nightmare.

Hope Idea will keep up the pace in remote areas too once urban locations are fully covered.

IDEA is the right choice if you are looking for greater coverage, has great penetration in urban areas of Kerala. But as the above partner says, does not have great penetration in rural areas on the outskirts of the city, but that should not worry because the signal covers weakly and not as strongly as it does in the city.

I think you are right. Idea may be comparatively better than other operators in rural areas. In rural areas at least you can have signals at some places. I have not tried Vodafone till now, so unable to comment about their presence in rural areas, but I have tried Reliance & Airtel and they are really pathetic.

I think telecom companies as a whole is not focusing on rural areas deliberatively. They know the business potential in rural areas is quite minimal and cost of setting up a tower could be much higher than the actual return. I heard that BSNL is planning expand their network in rural areas by setting up towers in rural areas. Hope private operators could also benefit from it by sharing the network.
